Fern Gully Winery produces small batches of award winning, premium wines: Chardonnay, Rosé, Shiraz, Chambourcin, Noble Dessert Wine and Vintage Fortified Shiraz (port). They only use grapes grown and hand picked from their Termeil vineyard. Vines were planted in 1996, with Tannat planted in 2010. The coastal maritime climate produces long ripening seasons enhancing grape flavour development. They use the best of both traditional and modern winemaking practices, including refrigerated open fermentation vats, basket press and maturation in oak 225 litre barriques. Enjoy the sensory aromas of maturing wine while tasting at the cellar door amongst vats and tanks, inside the working winery. Max the winemaker will happily explain the winemaking process. Tours at AUD30 per person include a bottle of wine. This is a boutique family winery, where wines are lovingly made to capture fruit flavours.
